The ikea kallax is a fucking godsend for vinyl collections. The kallax is nice, but really any shelves will work if they have about 13 of space. A beginner homelabber here, i wanted to keep things small and cheap so purchased the 10 digitus 6u mini rack for super cheap from amazon warehouse (it's got a small scratch. I have a fractal node 304 which fits perfectly in a kallax shelf, it's itx only but takes 6xhdds (or 4xhdds and a longer gpu), good luck finding an atx solution. I recently bought a tv and foolishly forgot to check the weight of it, and both the weight requirements of the kallax tv stand that ikea sells, and of course this one. Ikea has other shelving units, and some shelves from local furniture stores aren't too expensive. My solution was a besta. Definitely kallax, they are sturdier and much more versatile.

I know the kallax units are loved, tried and tested and referred to one and all as the saviour of record storage, but i wouldn't trust my collection to such cheap materials as hollow chipboard. The kallax is nice, but really any shelves will work if they have about 13 of space. The large bins for the kallax makes it impossible to keep toys organized and the half drawer solutions are too small, not easily portable, and expensive.

Ikea has other shelving units, and some shelves from local furniture stores aren't too expensive. The kallax are closer to 13.1” inside, where my threshold is a solid 13.5”, and i like the extra height for box sets and whatnot. Definitely kallax, they are sturdier and much more versatile.
I Think They’re Free Shipping Even If You Meet.
The ikea kallax is a fucking godsend for vinyl collections. Nail a couple of planks of wood at the back of the kallax so that your records stay nice and level and don't. They will hold large format art books, misc books and collectibles on top, and if you decide to get into vinyl records they are also.
